Surface pattern design is my dream side-hustle because it brings together many of my niche interests: illustration, functional decorative objects, interior design, and storytelling. Among the many styles I’ve explored, Toile de Jouy has always captivated me. This traditional 18th-century French pattern typically features pastoral landscapes with figures in period attire woven among foliage. Inspired by its timeless charm and modern reinterpretations, I set out to create my own take on this classic style.

I designed Mount Olympus Toile as a reimagining of the mythical home of the gods. I envisioned rugged cliffs, flowing rivers, soft clouds, and lush plants, populated by Zeus, Poseidon, Hermes, Icarus, and other gods and goddesses lounging in their celestial domain.

Each element was meticulously hand-drawn, blending intricate detail with narrative storytelling. Scroll to see how this pattern translates into different contexts and get a closer look at the iconic figures within.

Mount Olympus Toile is a celebration of blending tradition with artistry, creating designs that are as meaningful as they are beautiful.
