OPPORTUNITY

The Wall Street Journal introduced a groundbreaking Augmented Reality (AR) function within its app, allowing users to explore the stock market in an innovative and engaging way. By pointing their phone camera at any surface, users could see the stock market come to life as a dynamic, city-like skyline that reached both above and below the surface. I was tasked with creating a cohesive ad campaign to promote this feature across digital, social, and print channels, showcasing its unique ability to make the stock market more interactive and accessible.
CHALLENGE
The challenge was to effectively convey the app’s innovative AR feature in a way that was both visually engaging and easy to understand, particularly for audiences unfamiliar with AR technology. The campaign also needed to maintain The Wall Street Journal’s brand integrity while highlighting the modern, forward-thinking nature of the feature.

SOLUTIONS
To address these challenges, I developed a visually striking and cohesive campaign:Concept and Design: I created a clean, modern graphic in Adobe Illustrator that represented the app’s user interface and AR functionality. The design emphasized the city-like skyline concept, visually tying the stock market to an urban landscape.Multi-Channel Rollout: The campaign was adapted for digital, social media, and print, ensuring a consistent brand experience across platforms while reaching diverse audiences.Clarity and Engagement: The visuals were designed to instantly communicate the AR feature’s functionality, inviting users to explore the app in an intuitive and exciting way.

RESULTS
The campaign successfully raised awareness of The Wall Street Journal app’s AR functionality, generating engagement across multiple channels and reinforcing the publication’s reputation as a leader in innovation. The ads resonated with both tech-savvy users and traditional audiences, bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and trusted journalism.
